Gourmet Gift Basket

Gourmet gift baskets are popular gifts for birthdays, holidays, or for any special occasion. There are many gift baskets available in the markets that are attractive but expensive. They also can be wasteful, as the recipient might not always like all the foods in the basket. So why not be creative and make a personalised gourmet gift basket. You also can also reduce costs by including homemade delicacies, and what’s more personal than that?

Select an appropriate gift basket

The first thing to do while making a gourmet gift basket is to choose a right empty basket for your food gifts. Pick and choose the baskets depending on how much you want to spend and who the recipients are.

Decide a theme
Once you have selected the basket the next step would be to decide your theme. The food theme must be unique and preferably of the recipients choice. Take care that the food items are edible.

Prepare the basket

You would want your basket to look as beautiful as possible. Hence, arrange the items so as they are visually interesting. Before arranging the food items, place plenty of filler materials at the bottom, so that the gifts appear above the basket. Make use of colourful papers, piece of foam, newspapers or even a bed of chocolates or candies. The arrangement of the gourmet should be such that all the food items can easily be removed without any damage.

Choosing the contents

The basket can be filled with a variety of gourmet meats. The items can vary from pepperoni, salami, ham to canned seafood products like crabmeat, clams, and sardines. It’s a nice touch to add gourmet condiments like olive oil, balsamic vinegar, gourmet mustard, similar jarred condiments, saffron, or even cheese or a dry mix for making a dip. Choose from a wide range of beverages like a bottle of wine or non-alcoholic sparkling cider or gourmet coffee and herbal tea to top off your content.
